Legal & compliance execution

Legal, compliance and property matters, handled from start to finish.

CuraLegis supports clients across the Caribbean and the Netherlands. We work with SMEs and professional firms that need reliable legal support and additional capacity, trust and fiduciary companies requiring assistance with KYC, file remediation and temporary resourcing, home owners' associations or VVE seeking independent governance support, and pensionados and private clients looking for a trusted local contact on the island.

Whatever the assignment, our approach remains the same: direct senior involvement, clear expectations, practical solutions and a commitment to seeing the work through to completion

01 — Recognition

When work stalls and quietly breaks down.

Capacity is not unlimited. Priorities shift, teams become stretched and important work can lose momentum. Matters that should have been completed remain open, creating delays, operational pressure and unnecessary risk. Most organisations encounter these challenges at some point. The key lies in addressing them before they become larger problems.

SMEs, Professional Firms & Trust Offices
  • Contracts drafted but never properly finalised or filed
  • Corporate records out of date with registers not updated
  • Compliance and remediation backlogs building ahead of an audit or regulatory review
  • Law firms, trust offices or notaries operating at full capacity with work accumulating
  • KYC and CDD files incomplete or outdated as audit deadlines approach
  • Senior account manager absent, client portfolio unattended without proper oversight
  • Corporate structures that have become outdated and obsolete
  • New client onboarding delayed by capacity constraints
VvE / HOA
  • Disputes between owners remaining unresolved with no independent party able to move matters forward
  • Board decisions taken but never implemented
  • Outstanding arrears discussed repeatedly but never actively addressed
  • Financial records incomplete, making annual reporting difficult or impossible
Pensionados & Private Clients
  • A bank account held up in KYC review for months, documentation going back and forth without resolution
  • Pension payments interrupted while institutions refer matters back and forth without progress
  • A property purchase agreement or legal document requiring careful review before signing
  • No trusted local contact available to manage important local matters on the island

03 — How engagements work

Structured, senior, and scoped to the work.

Engagements are set up to get things moving again without adding complexity. Scope is clear from the start and reviewed if the situation changes.

01

Senior involvement throughout

Every engagement is handled directly, from the first conversation through to completion. No unnecessary layers or junior handovers.

02

Focused on execution

The emphasis is getting work completed: updated files, cleared backlogs, decisions implemented and matters progressed to conclusion. Not reports on what should be done.

03

Clear scope, clear fees

Agreed in writing at the start. If scope changes, it is discussed before additional work is done.

04

Flexible duration

Some matters require a short intervention. Others benefit from ongoing support. The engagement is tailored to the work, not to a fixed model.

Specialist work goes to specialists. Where a matter requires a notary, tax advisor, accountant or attorney, the appropriate professional is engaged. Practical work outside the legal and compliance scope, such as routine administration or local coordination, goes to trusted partners when that is the better fit.

Karl Mittring, LL.M.

"You work directly with me, from the first call through to delivery."

Every engagement is handled personally. No account layers, no junior handovers and no passing work between teams. If we agree on a scope, I am the person carrying it out and seeing it through to completion.
